There are many things to do in Sharm el Sheikh, from simply sunbathing to sightseeing or sports activities, diving, snorkelling or swimming in the clear warm Red Sea during the day plus a fun and vibrant nightlife after dark.

Things to do in Sharm el Sheikh:

Naama Bay: enjoy a stroll on the beachfront promenade with its numerous open air restaurants or take your pick from the numerous bars on and around Naama strip.

Nabq: unlike Naama Bay, Nabq has a wide high street lined with palm trees and plenty of parking space. Nabq has a Californian feel to it. Clean and modern it has a more pleasant and relaxed atmosphere than buzzing Naama Bay. Nabq also boasts great sandy beaches plus modern facilities including banks, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants with big brands like Starbucks, TGI Friday and Hard Rock Cafe, bars and pubs and even a casino.

Soho Square: located next to the Savoy hotel in between Nabq and Sharks Bay, Soho Square is a sophisticated dining and entertainment area. It features air conditioned fine dining restaurants including Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Thai cuisine. There is also the Queen Vic pub with its big terrace and live music, Pangea night club, a bowling alley, Cinemax, an ice rink and even an ice bar! 

Ras Mohamed National park is one of the world's top spots for snorkelling and diving. It boasts amazing coral reefs teeming with a wonderful array of colourful fish. Day trips to Ras Mohamed National park leave about 8am and come back before sunset. The cost is about £35, including lunch and drinks. You can hire snorkelling equipment for the day.

Tiran Island is also an amazing spot for diving and snorkelling. There are day excursions to Tiran Island with several spots for snorkelling, swimming or diving. You can book an excursion to Tiran Island for under £30 which includes lunch and drinks. Snorkelling equipment hire is an extra £3.

Quad biking in Sharm el Sheikh is very popular. There are tours lasting 2h with departures at sunrise or sunset. Prices for quad biking are approximately £20 to £30, including hotel pick up.

Glass Bottom Boat excursions are a comfortable way to see what the Red Sea has to offer without going in the water. From about £15 you can take a 90-minute trip on a glass bottom boat with a commentary from an English-speaking guide.

Old Town Sharm and its souvenirs market are considered by some as a must for a bit of shopping before going home. Of course, it's a question of personal taste!

Night Clubs: Sharm el Sheikh is an amazing place for clubbers with big names such as the world famous Pacha, Pangea and Space night clubs! There are lesser known clubs too. If you want to see an open air night club, go to Sharm el Sheikh!

Beaches: most hotels have some sort of real or artificial beach and there are also some bigger beaches with modern facilities:

- Terrazina beach: situated in Sharm el Maya, it offers plenty of sunloungers, food and drinks and a relaxed atmosphere during the week. Friday is party time!

- Pataya Beach: located in Nabq Bay, it comprises a seafront multi-function venue with outdoor beach club, restaurant, club and pool. On Wednesday night, music and live entertainment by dancers, percussionists, DJ's... make Pataya Beach one of the hottest parties in Sharm El Sheikh.

- Zouara beach: located in Nabq Bay, it is a wide sandy beach with a bar and watersports facilities such as catamarans. It is secure and peaceful with great views of Tiran Island. Ideal for a relaxing snooze.

- Naama Bay beach: Naama Bay beach can be fairly crowded during the day and most areas of the beach are taken over by restaurants in the evening to offer waterfront al fresco dining.

. Aquaparks: there are several aquaparks thoughout Sharm el Sheikh, such as in Nabq, Hadaba and Naama Bay.

. St Catherine’s Monastery is located in the Sinai mountains at the bottom of the mount where Moses received the 10 commandments. There are trips to St Catherine's Monastery from Sharm el Sheikh. They leave about 6am and last about 12 hours as St Catherine's Monastery is about 140 miles from Sharm el Sheikh. Prices including lunch are about £45.
